I took ART205: Typography in the Fall of 2007. In the class we learned about type heirarchy and how to use type to achieve desired effects. Shown to the right are a few of the assignments completed in the class with larger images available for viewing by clicking on them.

For this assignment, we had to choose a quote to make several different typographic portraits for, so I chose this quote from George Carlin. Here are three of the different versions I came up with.
For this assignment, we were given a list of books from which we had to choose one to make a book cover for. I chose to use the novel "Bright Lights, Big City" by Jay McInerney. The book is about a man in New York who goes on a wild spree of parties and drugs over several days. This was made using Adobe Photoshop and Adobe InDesign.
The goal of this assignment was to make a magazine spread featuring a typeface of our choosing. I chose to use Bodoni for the design since it is a fairly common typeface and is often used for large blocks of text, which meant that I could use it as the only typeface in the design. This was designed completely in Adobe InDesign.
